LIVFIT RECIPE OF THE DAY...


"LIVFIT RECIPE OF THE DAY ~ CHICKEN MEXICAN SALAD"

I'm so happy it Friday!!! I live for the weekends; I love having my children home and spending quality time as a family. I also enjoy cooking and baking for my family and on the weekends I make sure I have plenty of delicious foods on hand and prepared for a fun weekend...

Today I prepared a family favorite, taco salad with chicken made in the Crockpot. It's delicious and highly nutritious; it's high in protein (which is a must), fiber, flavor, veggies, vitamins and minerals. And best of all ~ it's so easy to do!

Carol Whitaker's Low-Fat Chicken Mexican Salad

1 can black beans (low sodium)
1- 2 16 oz jar of your favorite salsa, plus extra
16 oz of fat-free cream cheese
3/4 cup sweet white corn
1 Tsp fresh cilantro
salt & pepper to taste (sea salt) optional
6 chicken breast (with all fat cut off)

Place ingredients in a Crockpot on low and cook for 6 to 8 hours, mix well every few hours.

2 heads romaine lettuce, chopped

Garnish:
1/2 avocado (optional)
1/2 cup fat free sour cream (optional)
extra salsa
1 medium tomatoe chopped
1/2 cup low-fat or fat-free cheese grated (optional)
Tortilla strips: Use whole grain low-carb tortillas cut into strips, spray with EVOO or cooking spray & sprinkle with sea salt if desired, broil for about 5 minutes and flip to other side, bake until browned.

Place lettuce in bowl, scoop delicious chicken mixture over salad, top with desired garnish. This meal is not only delicious but it's comforting on a cold winter's evening and it smells yummy!  Enjoy!

I'm asked a lot how to stay motivated... For me staying motivated takes determination and dedication to working towards my goals every day. I visualize how I want to be as though I've already achieved it, I stay positive and see the good in everyone & everything, love myself unconditionally and give to others daily to keep me on track and in line with that which I desire.

To be successful in achieving your weight loss goals you must set goals to begin with. Having a focused mind set on your goals & dreams will surely lead you to success!

HOW TO BEGIN A FITNESS LIFESTYLE

To begin setting goals for fitness or weight loss you have to begin with transforming you thought process & the feelings in your heart first. You have to leave the past behind and focus on today... You have to be willing to let go of limiting thoughts and beliefs that have held you back from believing in you.

A great way to start is by Setting Attainable Goals to begin any fitness plan. Creating a clear road map to reach your desired destination or weight is critical to accomplish your goals & dreams.

ARE YOU MOTIVATED?

Living a LivFit Lifestyle doesn’t happen overnight it takes motivation, dedication and determination to follow through with your goals.

Unfortunately too many people lack the motivation needed to commit to starting or staying on track with a fitness routine day after day. It takes time, you don’t have to train long and hard, you can start off slow. If you start off too fast you'll feel exhausted and may lose the desire to stay on track...


Starting is half the battle you can begin by walking briskly for 20 minutes 5 days a week or jogging on a treadmill for 15 minutes. In time you find that you’ll have more energy and will want to exercise longer than you did the day or week before.

It all begins with loving yourself enough to want to improve your quality of life. Living a healthy lifestyle makes for a happier You! You’ll feel more vibrant, have better health, have more energy to play with your family and friends and you’ll have a sense empowerment.

Motivation is the key to success! Staying motivated will boost your determination to live a healthier lifestyle. Here are 10 Motivational Tips that have helped me stay on track year after year. These tips have also been highly beneficial for my clients to reach their goals and maintain their ideal body weight.

TOP 10 FITNESS MOTIVATIONAL TIPS

1. MAKE YOUR WORKOUTS A HIGH PRIORITY

Schedule your workouts on your calendar as you would a business meeting. Pack your gym bag and have it ready to go or place your workout clothes on your dresser the night before. If you can workout first thing in the morning that’s perfect! You’ll have it done for the day and you’ll feel proud of yourself for accomplishing your goal, it’s a great feeling. You’ll also have extra energy to get you through your busy schedule.

2. SET ATTAINABLE GOALS

Write down 5 short term goals in the present tense. Write goals that you know you can achieve within a week or a month time period. Create a detailed plan for success. Be specific such as "I workout 30 minutes each day" or "I eat a small balanced meal every 3 hours." Place your goals where you can read them often. Keep your goals in mind at all times. See yourself as though you have already accomplished your goals and dreams. Feel what it feels like to be at your ideal body weight, imagine your physique as you want it to be.

3. LOVE AND BELIEVE IN YOU


Loving yourself unconditionally will open your heart to believing in you! I always say "Dream big dreams because dreams really do come true!" If it’s your dream to be fit and thin then believe you can be. Visualize yourself lean and strong. Our minds are very powerful in creating our habitual thoughts. So think uplifting thoughts throughout the day. By loving and believing in you all things are possible.

4. CHOOSE A LOCATION TO WORKOUT

Choose a gym close to home, you’ll be more inclined to make it to the gym more often if it’s convenient. Or create your own gym, all you need are varies sizes of dumbbells, a bench and a mirror to watch your form (always lift weights in front of a mirror) and you’ll have your very own gym in the comforts of your own home! Make your gym a place where you want to be. Make it fun, have a fitness poster to motivate you, have a TV & a DVD player to follow along with your favorite workouts, or a radio/CD player to play upbeat music loudly to add energy to your workouts.

5. STAY POSITIVE & HAVE AN ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE

Be grateful for your body as it is now. Give thanks for all that it does for you. Visualize yourself as though you have already accomplished your fitness and wellness goals. With gratitude in your heart imagine yourself as the size, shape and weight as you aspire to be. Your body will literally transform more easily by focusing on love and appreciation. The more you are grateful for the more you'll have to be grateful for!

6. KEEP A FITNESS & DIET JOURNAL

Journal keeping is imperative for fitness and weight loss success. Having a journal for your meals and exercise routines is a great way to track your accomplishments and improvements. Log your workouts by writing down how much weight you used and how many reps you did. Also write how you felt that day. You’ll be able amazed at how rewarding it is to keep a record of your fitness journey.

Plan your meals ahead of time. Write down your meal plan the night before and prepare your meals ahead of time so you’ll be ready to go the next day. Using a diet journal holds you accountable for everything you eat & drink, it will help you immensely. Be honest and write down everything you eat. You'll begin to think twice about what you put in your mouth.

7. CREATE A SUPPORT GROUP

Having a buddy system is a huge benefit to assist you in your weight loss efforts. Tell all of your family and friends of your weight loss goals and then you will feel less likely to overeat at a family gathering and social events. Exercise with a close friend, it’s so much more fun to workout with a friend. Surround yourself with people that believe in you and that will support you in your fitness goals and dreams. Avoid pessimistic people and choose to spend time with those that inspire you to be a better person.

8. HIRE A FITNESS COACH OR PERSONALTRAINER

Hire a fitness guru to help you learn how to properly chart your meals and exercise routines. Be selective; follow your heart in choosing the right coach or trainer. There are all sorts of trainers and coaches from yoga to bodybuilding. Having a coach or trainer will educate, motivate and inspire you. You’ll have more self-confidence in the gym and needed will-power at home. Being accountable to someone whom you look up to will skyrocket you to success.

9. GET ENOUGH SLEEP

Getting enough Zzz’s is essential to achieving a lean, shapely physique. Your body repairs worked torn muscle tissues from your earlier workout during sleep. Try to get to bed by 10:30 pm each evening so your body can fully recover. You’ll not only have more energy for your next workout but you’ll feel stronger too!

10. FOLLOW THROUGH

Start your fitness plan today! Take action and follow through with your goals. Be sure to implement journal writing and daily exercise to ensure success. Write down a timeline on your calendar when you will reach your goals, then reward yourself when you do. Get a massage, go to a movie, or read a good book; do what makes you happy.

This time of year is filled with thoughts of our loved ones as Valentine ’s Day approaches. It’s a time for giving of our love and attention to those we hold most dear to our hearts. But how many of us give the ultimate Valentine’s Gift to ourselves ~ the gift of Pure Love.

I’m often asked how to live a happier, healthier way of life. My heart is always touched by the heartfelt email messages which I receive asking for my help. I’m always moved by the stories I read, my heart goes out to those that are suffering in silence over experiences that happened to them which has ultimately lowered their self esteem and love for themselves.

A NEW BEGINNING

Living a Happy, Fit Lifestyle absolutely begins from within. Learning to love you as you are right Now is truly a gift that only you can give yourself. After all you are divinity. You are a Child of God filled with Heavenly Father’s love & light. We often forget how magnificent we truly are. We let the world cloud our spiritual eyes and allow the pure light within us dim so that only a flicker of light resides within us.

Too many women care for their family and loved ones only to forget to take time to care about themselves. If you don’t care about you “first” then how will you be able to care for others fully? You can’t… If you’re too tired to exercise each day then how will you have the energy to spend quality time with your family and loved ones? You won’t…

Discovering who you really are and allowing your heart to embrace everything about you takes time. You must believe how special you are and that You are worth it! You are spectacular! YOU are the most important person on earth!

EMBRACING A HAPPIER YOU

Too many incredible women don’t love themselves. They look in the mirror and make derogatory statements that only hurts their body, mind and spirit; they don’t feel worthy of their own love. Many turn to “comfort” foods to hide, mask or numb their emotions and feelings, at the time it eases the pain or loneliness for a moment only to cause emotional frustrations of self sabotage in the end.

YOUR THOUGHTS ARE POWERFUL

Your thoughts and feelings are your body’s indicators of how to be. If you are having horrible feelings of dislikes about your body then your body will ultimately give you more of what your heart is feeling. You literally are a spiritual being – you are a Child of God! This means that you are a creator. You create your life in all areas from health to prosperity your thoughts manifests in the world around you.

Your thoughts bring into being your reality as well as your body’s wellness. If you often have harsh thoughts about your body image then you’re most likely over weight and tired all the time. How can your precious body be anything but broken with habitual negative self talk? It can’t. But on the other hand, if you think and feel loving thoughts about your miraculous body daily then what do you think will happen? Your amazing body will begin to repair and heal itself which will then have the effect of more energy to fulfill your heart’s desire.

Your body reflects your inner feelings. How do you feel? Are you full of life or struggling to survive? Loving yourself unconditionally begins by taking time each day to love everything about you!

LETTING GO

Begin to take control of your life today. Letting go of limiting emotions and beliefs will free you from having negative feelings.

Begin by writing down all of the experiences that have brought you pain including your body image, health, family, associates & friends. Then one by one forgive each one as well as yourself. Tell yourself that each experience was to make you stronger; they were life's lessons to help you become all that you are today. Then rip it up & throw it away - this is a form of emotional release.

Then replace those limiting thoughts and beliefs by writing down ALL of the glorious gifts in your life as well as all your beautiful body does for you each day! Give gratitude to Heavenly Father for all that you are. Thank your body for all the miraculous things it does daily; love it, speak kind words to it and see it as you want it to be as though you’ve already accomplished your fitness goals and dreams.

By releasing you'll soon find that you are happier than usual, life will seem more pleasant and filled with wonderful experiences. You'll begin to see the good in all that you are and in everyone around you.

YOU ARE WORTH IT!

It all comes down to taking the time to truly care and love you! Life is meant to be joyful & abundant in all areas. Practice being positive and loving everything about you daily, then at night write in a gratitude journal, write down 5 things that you were grateful for that day.

Within time you will come to understand just how glorious you truly are. You are worth your time, efforts and love. Decide today to embrace all that you are and will be. You can achieve your hearts desires by loving, believing and edifying all that you are.

Believe in You! You truly are the most important person on earth! Make this Valentine's Day one to remember by loving yourself completely.
